I'm noticing people are using 4chan post links for sourcing posts and content from the sthg threads (On the source tab) for a handful of posts from time to time.

Even though this is very helpful for original content that isn't posted on the STHG threads,(like other boards outside of VG or sites) it's not really needed for STHG Thread OG Content specifically.
Now if you want to go the extra mile, then by all means do it. It's just that many booru posters don't source link sthg thread related content consistently.

Clearer example:
OG Stuff specifically/directly posted on sthg : don't get source linked consistently on the booru (which make me feel like we need an easier and more consistent method of sourcing; using filenames on title tab) , people usually just upload and tag, which is fine.

OG Stuff that's related to Sonic but on different boards and sites: get source linked consistently as I'm seeing. And that's great and really helpful to do

The point:

All you really have to do, that's much quicker, is just copy&paste the filename of the content to the Title tab of the booru posted content.

(This is for posts specifically that was posted on the sthg thread)
(Keep using source links for original content posted outside of the sthg general threads, while also adding the filename as well)
(You can add source links to sthg thread posts still, but filenames on the title tab is just as helpful, add them as well when you post to booru)

Many archive sites like desuarchive.org and boards.fireden.net use scripts like "Search by Filename" and "Search by similar image" which people can use to find the source of posts quickly and easily.


Summary TLDR;
Don't change your booru uploading posting style (tagging, sourcing, etc)by any means. You've all been doing fine.
But copying and pasting the filename to the title tab will be helpful for finding posts instantly, like source links. Try to add that when you upload.

Also I've noticed Webm's from Webmshare are starting to be 404'd even though we ticked "Until the End of time" on the expiring style so they'd be up forever.

I suggest using other sites like https://mixtape.moe and such for webm uploads.

I really wish this sthg booru could upload videos like other boorus so we don't have to rely on outside sources.

But what I found out is that pasting and posting the FILENAME of the webm to the title tab (what I just talked out) will help you link to the post on boards.fireden.net and other archive sites. Which will play the webm.

You know, going on the site and using that "Search by Filename" tab.

As you can see, listing the filename as well when uploading is very important.
I'm gonna try to find the webms I uploaded on my files and list their filename. Some of the videos/webms have their filename already, so I thank the ones who did that.
